Where to Stay in Udaipur
According to our experience, is the best area in Udaipur. We stayed at a hotel called Treebo Trend Park Classic; which is situated just outside of the main city centre. You can take a short 10 minute ride to the center of the action. However, you have the option to skip the trip if you are interested in exploring the areas just outside Udaipur.
The hotel is great from a location standpoint, but it falls short in many other areas. This includes customer service, cleanliness, and dining.
Here's an alternative: Take a look at better accommodation in Udaipur. All are designed to suit different budgets...
Best Airbnb - Dera Baghdarrah Luxury Wildlife Camp
This camp is located 20 km outside the city. It's possibly the most beautiful and unique place to stay in Udaipur. The camp is nestled in a natural reserve on the banks and banks of Bagdara Lake. The camp was established in partnership with the state Forestry Department giving guests the opportunity to live among the wildlife. You can also opt for a package that includes all meals.
These are the Best Places to Visit in Udaipur, India
Here's the best part! In just 2 days, you can see the top Udaipur attractions. Here are the places that we visited and those we missed. Travelling can be tiring, so we may have to cut down on our sightseeing time. However, if you are just traveling, you will still manage to see all the sights in Udaipur in two days.
There are many places you can visit in Udaipur, and it is not easy to do so for two days. To fully take advantage of all that Udaipur offers, start your day early.
1. City Palace
Udaipur's City Palace is a main attraction. It should be on your Udaipur itinerary in two days. This beautiful palace can be explored in about an hour and is very affordable.
It is open from 9.30 to 5.30pm. Bradley and I visited at 4. You might not be able beat the crowds if you arrive early. The palace itself is stunning and there's a restaurant that offers real gold coffee. (As you can see, it's quite expensive!)
A guide will be able to tell you the history and stories of the area. You don't have to pay a lot and even though everything is in English you will still miss some of the essences.
2. Lake Pichola
Pichola Lake, an artificial freshwater lake, is one of Udaipur's oldest and largest lakes. It is known for its beautiful surroundings and scenic beauty. It is the most popular tourist spot and offers many great dining options with stunning views of the lake. For sunset drinks and dinner, we ate at one of the nearby restaurants. It was reasonably priced, had great service, and offered good cocktails. The view was stunning.
It was listed on Tripadvisor's first page for restaurants near Lake Pichola. I cannot remember its name. The lake is most enjoyable in the evening so include it in your Udaipur 2-day itinerary. This is a great place to visit in Udaipur after dark.
You can rent a boat and take a trip to the lake. Or you can go on a sunset boat ride, which, although I haven't done it, sounds very romantic.
3. Jagdish Temple
Just outside the city palace is this amazing Hindu temple. It is dedicated to Vishnu, the preserver of the universe. This site will be visible on your way to the temple.
4. Fateh Sagar Lake
Another must-see place in Udaipur that you can visit in just 2 days.
It is located north of Pichola Lake and is equally beautiful. Because there are less tourists, it may be even more beautiful. You will find many local families waiting to take in the stunning view at sunset.
If you feel hungry, there are several street food vendors nearby.
5. Monsoon Palace
This is the best spot to see beautiful views of Udaipur. There are many options: you can rent a tuk tuk, taxi or a moped, or arrange a tour package. The location is on a hilltop, so you can enjoy panoramic views of Udaipur. This is something that I really wanted to do but was unable to do. Please add it to your list of places to visit in Udaipur and let me know what you thought! You can visit it from 8 am to 6pm.
6. Gulab Bagh and Zoo
This is Udaipur's largest garden, covering over 100 acres. It is worth visiting if you love nature and beauty. This place is a delight for rose lovers as there are many varieties of roses. The zoo is a great place to entertain children. The zoo is open daily from 8.30am to 6pm, while the gardens are open 24 hours.
7. Udaipur Solar Observatory
The Udaipur Solar Observatory was another spot that I had hoped to visit, but did not get to see. (I drove by it on my moped, does that count? You don't have to pay an entrance fee. It is open every day from 10 to 6pm. It is considered the best spot for solar observation in Asia. Because it is on the lake, you can see it best from far away.
8. Biological Park
This is just below the monsoon Palace. It's where I said you pay to enter because you have to pass through it to reach the palace. You can tell me if you know something different, but the guard insisted that this is what happened. It's a zoological garden filled with animals and plants. It's worth stopping by if you plan on going to the Monsoon Palace.
9. Markets
You can buy gifts in Udaipur at many markets and you have the opportunity to do so every day. For a few pounds, I bought my famous blue skirt in Udaipur. I say famous because you'll notice I wear it a lot in my Indian travel photos. I had a green skirt that I brought from home but it was too short. You can easily walk around the tourist area near the city palace, and you will see many markets.
10. Marvel Waterpark
You want something different while in Udaipur. Add the Marvel Waterpark on your Udaipur bucket list. It takes only two days to complete. It is cheap, cheerful, and gets mixed reviews. We had planned to visit this place, but in the end we decided not to. I'd love to hear what others thought about it if they did.
It's not a huge loss for 400 dollars for adults and 250 children for it, but it is a significant one if you don't like it!
11. Lake Badi
This one is not always on the top of the Udaipur tourist spots list. I don't get it.
My favourite lake in Udaipur. It is peaceful, tranquil, and quiet. You might even want to spend your entire time there. It's a great place to watch the sunset. We have been twice. It feels so peaceful here and it isn't crowded with tourists.
How to Get Around Udaipur
You have many options to get around Udaipur.
One way cab from udaipur It's super convenient and very affordable.A local sim can be very useful. You can order items from any location using your data. Airtel was our favorite network. You'll only need your passport, visa, and a passport photograph to get one.
Tuk-Tuks -You can also rent them via Uber or Ola, or negotiate directly with a driver. It's a good idea to look at Ola to see the cost of the journey. This will give you an idea of what is fair when you are haggling for a price. You can usually get a fair deal if you pay 50 rupees more than the Ola.
Organized tour You may not feel comfortable riding a moped and you are afraid of arranging your own transportation. It is best to schedule a private tour for each day.You can find this full-day tour udaipur taxi service This will take you to the many best places in Udaipur, as listed below. You also get a comfortable car with air conditioning and a guide.Who can provide more information on each site than you do?
